2012 Mountain Biking Events

Finally, we are one big happy family - Unified Federation of Dirt.

I have always been an advocate of having one organization/series. I am also excited that we are all finally using USA Cycling to permit/insure events. In my opinion, having different organizations/series (Midwest Fat Tire Championship Series, Heartland, St. Louis, Individual) wasn't good for our sport, nor did it support our national governing body. We are a niche sport as it is, and working against each other simply wasn't good. I would like to see us become a local chapter with USA Cycling or develop into something like WORS. Of course this would take a lot of work and a group of dedicated people to organize it. I believe we are on great path now and I see good things ahead for mountain biking, especially seeing the tremendous growth on the endurance side and gravel adventures.
